Tenets of Faith
The Bible is the verbally inspired and infallible, authoritative Word of God.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God is One Being who eternally exists as Three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit; All of the Persons are equal in power and glory.
(Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ is fully God and man (John 1:1,14), born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18), sinless in His life (Hebrews 4:15); He died vicariously on the cross as a substitution for sinful men (Hebrews 9:15) and was raised to life (Acts 2:24); He will return visibly and personally to the earth both in salvation and judgment (Acts 1:11, Hebrews 9:28, Matthew 24:30)
All humans are sinful by nature (Romans 3:23,5:12) and can only be forgiven by the expression of trust in Jesus as Savior (John 3:16) brought about by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5-7)
We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. (Romans 8;1-17, Galations 5:22)
The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that have repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed on Christ as their Savior and Lord. In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with Him in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19); Romans 6:4)
By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word. (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15, 16:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24; 1 John 2:6)
Holy Communion is to be taken in an appropriate manner (1 Corinthians 11:27) as a time of remembrance of Jesus. (Luke 22:19) We practice open communion meaning all are welcome to participate.
We believe that life begins at conception (Psalm 139:13-16) and that we are to choose life (Deuteronomy 30:19) until God sees fit to bring us to be with Him.
We believe the family unit consists of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24) brought together before God as an example of Christ’s love for the Church. (Ephesians 5:22-23)
The church is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfilment of her great commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (1 Thessalonians 2-4)
